Humans haven’t set foot on the Moon since NASA’s Apollo 17 mission in 1972. Now, the space agency is racing to get back to the lunar surface under the umbrella of its Artemis program — a nod to the Greek goddess and twin sister of Apollo, whose name was given to NASA’s first program to send humans to the Moon.

The program has been plagued by years of delays, development mishaps, and billions of dollars in budget overruns, but the mission is unquestionably ambitious. The goal of Artemis is to create a sustainable presence near the Moon, instead of just sending humans to plant flags and make footprints. The agency also aims to send the first woman to the Moon through the Artemis program.

Artemis I successfully completed its uncrewed mission in 2022. On April 2nd, 2026, Artemis II launched from Kennedy Space Center carrying four astronauts in its Orion capsule to travel around the Moon before returning to Earth in 10 days’ time. They’ll test out the hardware and systems that could soon see humans standing on the Moon for the first time in more than 50 years in the Artemis IV mission scheduled for 2028.

Fifty years ago, on April 1st, 1976, Apple Computer Company was founded. Today it’s one of the most valuable companies in the world, celebrated for producing ubiquitous products like the iPad and iPhone to now-nostalgia bait like the iPod Mini and PowerBook.

Death. Taxes. All your streaming services getting a little more expensive all the time. These are the new certainties in life, it seems.

Netflix has raised the cost of its subscription repeatedly in recent years. Disney Plus, Prime Video, HBO Max, Paramount Plus, Peacock — practically any service you can name — charges more per month than it did a few years ago, and many of them have introduced ad breaks. As customers cancel cable more quickly than anyone expected, the studios and distributors are looking for a way to make up the lost revenue. Good shows, live sports, and movies are more in demand — and thus more expensive — than ever.

And after a decade of spending money like it was going out of style because all investors cared about were subscriber numbers, companies are looking for any way they can to improve their bottom line. They’re cracking down on password sharing, canceling shows for the tax breaks, and even selling prized content to other platforms. But the most common strategy is simply to charge you, the viewer, more.

We’re tracking all the price increases and other changes from streaming services so you can make sure you’re only paying for what you want. (We’ll also include discounts and deals, though those seem to happen less and less.) Here’s the latest:

Just months after Netflix struck a deal to acquire the Warner Bros. studio, HBO, HBO Max, and Warner Games, the streaming giant has backed out of the arrangement, declining to raise its offer beyond Paramount’s “best and final” bid.

It’s just the latest twist in the acquisition saga, which started with a bidding war that reportedly also involved Apple, Amazon, and Comcast. Once Netflix and Warner Bros. came to an agreement on December 5th, Paramount tried to force its way into the deal, announcing a hostile bid worth $108.4 billion in cash. Unlike Netflix’s deal, Paramount’s includes an acquisition of all of Warner Bros. Discovery, including its cable networks.

But after several rejections, Paramount persistently upped its bid. It eventually came back with an all-cash offer at $31 per share and promised to cover the $7 billion regulatory termination fee if its deal with WBD doesn’t close, along with the $2.87 billion termination fee it must pay Netflix for abandoning its deal. Warner Bros. Discovery determined that the deal is “superior,” leading Netflix to walk away, saying it’s “no longer financially attractive.”

There are already questions about where the deal will go from here, and concerns from regulators about the proposed acquisition. You can follow along below for all of the latest updates as they come in.

With AI-backed hiring on the rise, tips for “hacking” your resume are all over social media. As job search companies increasingly rely on artificial intelligence to sort through applications, job seekers wonder how to best position themselves with those filters in mind.

We decided to speak directly with job search leaders about how a resume should look when you’re thinking about AI optimization, and what works in a job applicant’s favor. The Verge senior AI reporter Hayden Field spoke to representatives from Indeed, Glassdoor, LinkedIn, and Greenhouse, as well as Hilke Schellmann, author of The Algorithm. Their answers had a clear theme: Resume hacks won’t get you far with these AI systems.

For instance, a common technique is to take keywords from job postings and include them throughout the resume, also known as “keyword stuffing.” Often, the words may even be hidden in white font. Glassdoor’s chief economist, Daniel Zhao, says this might get you past an initial screen, but once it reaches a human review it may not get far.

“I’ve actually seen myself as a hiring manager, an application came in from a candidate who had put a bunch of text in all white at the bottom of the resume, but the system actually highlighted it. And so it was very clear that this was not actually relevant to their skills or experience. I would say that if you’re using that to put information that is not actually applicable to your skills and experience, that’s gonna be really hard to explain to an employer.”

Virtually everyone we spoke to echoed a similar sentiment: that adding a human touch to your job application is now more important than ever.

“ Think about the fact that you are creating your resume for two different audiences, right? You’re creating it for an algorithm and you’re also creating it for a human,” says Priya Rathod, workplace trends editor at Indeed.

Watch our video to learn more about how the current hiring landscape looks in the age of AI and what else the experts say about standing out.

Prediction markets will let you bet on just about anything, from how many tweets Elon Musk will post this week to the next president of the United States, with predictions sometimes showing shockingly (or suspiciously) spot-on accuracy. Polymarket’s CEO Shayne Copland has even claimed that prediction markets are “the most accurate thing we have as mankind right now.”

However, these platforms blur the lines — in terms of both function and regulation — between gambling and stock trading. As Bloomberg’s Joe Weisenthal said on The Vergecast, “All of the lines between trading, speculating, [and] gambling are just being completely torn apart.”

There are also ethical concerns surfacing around prediction markets, like whether it’s acceptable to be able to place a bet on virtually everything, along with concerns about insider trading. For instance, a newly-created Polymarket account made over $400,000 in January betting on the capture of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro.
