Indian phone network Aircel announced that it will be carrying the iPhone 4S as of November 25th. Its competitor, Airtel, has also said that it will be launching the phone soon, but has not provided a date as of yet. Pricing hasn't been confirmed either, but based on the iPhone 4, it's expected to be between 35,000 and 40,000 Rupees (about $690 - $790) on contract.

Apple promised to make this the fastest iPhone rollout so far, which explains why Indian customers only have to put up with a six week delay instead of facing a repeat of the 11 months it took for the iPhone 4 to come to the subcontinent. The company plans to deploy the 4S in over 7 …

Apple's latest iteration of the iPhone has just started its second wave of international availability. However, unlike the US, these new releases are being sold SIM-free. This means that customers in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland can now buy their new handset direct from Apple without being tied to a carrier.

The 16GB version of Sprint's iPhone 4S had already completely sold out for pre-orders, but the 32GB model and the 8GB iPhone 4 are now in "limited quantities," which presumably means they'll sell out before too long. Interestingly, Sprint isn't accepting any backorders - perhaps a sign that they're not sure how or when Apple will replenish stock - so if you had your heart set on a 16GB Sprint model, you're out of luck in the short term.

Calling it "the most successful iPhone launch we've ever had," AT&T has announced that it has taken in over 200,000 pre-orders for the iPhone 4S in the first twelve hours it was available. We'd seen plenty of reports of early-morning trouble with pre-orders as well while both Apple and AT&T ramped up their e-commerce sites for the new iPhone, which makes the number all the more impressive.

Apple just released pre-order details for its brand new iPhone 4S, and you'll be able to sign up this Friday, October 7th on Apple.com at 12:01AM PT / 3:01AM ET. Users in the US, France, Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan and the UK will get online purchasing access on Friday, and the 4S will roll out to 22 additional countries by the end of October. If you can't wait for delivery, the 4S will be in stores at 8AM on the 14th. With a two-year contract on AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint, the 16GB 4S goes for $199, 32GB for $299, and 64GB for $399.
