That's about as specific as it gets regarding the release date, and pricing information remains as elusive as ever.

As a reminder, the Bold 9790 comes with Blackberry OS 7, a 1GHz processor, and a 2.44-inch, 360 x 480 touchscreen display sitting above RIM's acclaimed Bold keyboard. So, how about it, our Canadian readers? Are you willing to commit to a 3-year contract (yes, American friends, three years) for this phone, or would you rather wait until next y …

After many leaks, RIM has finally come clean on its latest BlackBerry smartphones, the Bold 9790 and Curve 9380. Both devices run BlackBerry OS 7 with its newer browser, support for NFC and, of course, BlackBerry Messenger. RIM is preloading both devices with Documents To Go Premium, BlackBerry Protect for backup, and BlackBerry Balance to allow users to have a virtual wall between corporate and personal content.

The Bold 9790 is the more desirable of the two, updating the classic Bold QWERTY form factor with a curvier look, updated buttons that are reminiscent of the BlackBerry Torch 9850, and a 2.44-inch, 360 x 480 touchscreen.
The BlackBerry Bold 9790 is making a solid run at the "worst-kept product secret ever" award, adding yet another leak to its already long list (which includes RIM's own outing of the device). This time it's courtesy of a CrackBerry tipster, who snapped photos of the device's front and back. There are no surprises in the photos - the 9790 is tiny, and has four very odd-looking buttons surrounding the optical trackpad. The phone still hasn't been officially announced, but it can't be too far off at this point. Will you be buying a 9790 when it finally comes out?

RIM has kind of a knack for open secrets, in that every single detail of a phone will inadvertently leak before the device is even acknowledged to exist. This time it's a picture of the BlackBerry Bold 9790, popping up on the official BlackBerry website comparison tool in lieu of the Bold 9700 (pictured above, left, next to the real 9700). The image in question, found by Crackberry forum goers, has since been fixed back to 9700, but you can clearly see more defined hardware buttons next to the trackpad. As the story goes so far, the Bold 9790 is best thought of as a Bold 9900 in a 9700's body, and clearly RIM's site designers took that analog …

If you're digging the Bold 9900's touchscreen + QWERTY combination but aren't quite as fond of its larger footprint, the Bold 9790 might be just the device for you. BGR has managed to acquire the updated Bold 9700, which adds in a 5 megapixel camera, 8GB of internal storage, a 1.2GHz processor, and even NFC. The publication also speculates that it could very well launch before year's end, and possibly even next month. Of course we'll keep an ear out for more information - and an eye on the trusty FCC database - so stay tuned as we watch RIM launch yet another BlackBerry that doesn't run QNX. Colt can't come soon enough.

Source: BGR
