Now that the proposed cage match between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk isn't going to happen, Musk is saying he will show up unannounced at Zuckerberg's home to fight.

"For the Tesla FSD test drive in Palo Alto tonight, I will ask the car to drive to @finkd's house," Musk posted today on X, or the service formerly called Twitter. "If we get lucky and Zuck my 👅 actually answers the door, the fight is on!"

Musk, who once compared a user broadcasting his jet's location to sharing "assassination coordinates," says he'll livestream the "adventure" on X.

Zuckerberg, it turns out, is having none of it.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said on Threads that he's "ready to fight" X owner Elon Musk but not to believe that there's a scheduled date until he confirms it.

Musk claimed Friday morning that the fight would be livestreamed on X and "Meta," and that everything you'd see on camera "will be ancient Rome." Italy's culture minister promptly indicated in a statement that the planning isn't as far along as Musk suggests, nor will any event actually be held in Rome. Mark Zuckerberg says he's "ready today" to fight Elon Musk, and that although he suggested August 26th as the date for their cage match, Musk hasn't confirmed.

"Not holding my breath," said Zuckerberg in a Sunday post on Threads that included a screenshot of Musk's post on X / Twitter about lifting weights to prepare.

A post by Musk late on Sunday night said he "might need surgery," and will have a neck and upper back MRI to check before possibly scuttling the fight date.

Here we go.

After Elon Musk recently tweeted that he would be "up for a cage fight" with Zuckerberg, the Meta CEO shot back by posting a screenshot of Musk's tweet with the caption "send me location."

I've confirmed that Zuckerberg's post on his Instagram Stories is, in fact, not a joke, which means the ball is now in Musk's court. "The story speaks for itself," Meta spokesperson Iska Saric told me.

After this story was published, Musk responded to it with two words: "Vegas Octagon." He then tweeted: "I have this great move that I call 'The Walrus,' where I just lie on top of my opponent and do nothing."
