<p>Travis Kalanick has stepped down as CEO of Uber. The news comes as the company has been hit with an <a href="https://www.theverge.com/2017/3/6/14791080/uber-sexism-scandal-strike-waymo-lawsuit-travis-kalanick">extended barrage of scandal and controversy</a>; Kalanick had already recently taken a <a href="https://www.theverge.com/2017/6/13/15792976/uber-ceo-travis-kalanick-leave-of-absence-holder-report">leave of absence</a> following the death of his mother.</p>
