The seemingly tireless Street View team has previously braved the dangers of the Amazon and wild drivers of America’s highways, and recently captured the beauty of the Swiss Alps. The crew teamed up with the Rhaetian Railway to capture the length of the Alubula-Bernina railroad line, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that includes the likes of the Dolomites, Vatican City, and Yellowstone National Park. No, the Google panoramic photo capture setup wasn’t mounted on a handcar for the 122 kilometer ride, but the Google trike was strapped to a flatbed at the front of the train to gather 360-degree panoramas of the ride. They’ll be available in Street View soon, and some behind-the-scenes shots can be seen in Picasa now.
