One of the really interesting features of Mac OS 10.7 is Lion Internet Recovery, which only requires an internet connection to fix a broken disk — and now Apple's rolling it out to the 2011 iMacs, which join the newest Macbook Air and Mac Mini models in supporting the feature. If the built-in recover partition on your hard disk fails, or you have a drive without Mac OS on it, these machines can use Lion Internet Recovery to download a complete set of repair and install tools over a broadband connection. Of course, you're looking at very big file to download from Apple, so this isn't a quick fix, but it's a nice little bonus of the company's new cloud-centric approach to the world.
