The Pentax Q almost doesn’t seem possible — this mirrorless camera is so small that it’s hard to believe you’re holding a real camera. But what we held at the PhotoPlus show in New York was, indeed, a real camera: it’s a 12-megapixel, interchangeable-lens shooter that at $799.95 is as expensive as it is tiny. There’s a hotshoe, and plenty of manual control on the camera; the big problem is that there’s no room in the miniature body for a big sensor, so what you get is a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor that’s barely larger than what’s inside a $100 point-and-shoot. Regardless, small is big again, and you won’t find a camera much smaller than this. Check out the gallery below to see for yourself.
