Mitsubishi has adapted its modular OLED technology from CEATEC 2010 to make a 106-inch (2.7m) partial hemisphere display to show off at CEATEC 2011. The company's new toy is pieced together from 696 1.25-inch (32mm) square OLED panels — the construction is very similar to a full sphere display it has in Japan's National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation, and the concept can be extended to create all sorts of curved displays. Mitsubishi's plans to commercialize the technology for electronic signs sound pretty insane to us, but we're sure somebody in Vegas will buy a few.
