The Navy is set to get help from a new, unmanned robotic helicopter in Afghanistan this November. The chopper, known as K-MAX, was developed with Lockheed Martin and aerospace company Kaman, is used for dropping weapons and supplies into combat areas without the need for a pilot. The copter has finished testing in Arizona and will now be employed int he field. This is the second unmanned helicopter to see combat in Afghanistan, the first being Fire Scout, a surveillance vehicle.
