Ahead of the Galaxy Nexus’s launch later this week, Google has just posted Android 4.0’s source code as part of the Android Open Source Project — a big leap from the last major drop, since Honeycomb was skipped altogether. That’s big news for the Android community at large, since it’s the first step on a long road to making Ice Cream Sandwich ports for every device under the sun — and it’s also important for smaller manufacturers who don’t have an insider relationship with Google for early access to the code base. Get to the hacking, folks!
