Google just pushed out complete redesign of its Search app for iPad, and it’s pretty radical: behind that familiar plain white text box lies a completely rethought UI. Google Instant results populate as soon as you start typing, and sliding a page to the right lets you back to a nice new visual search history that groups old queries together — you can just pinch to zoom to jump into a previous search. Image search is also new and much more finger-friendly, with a new carousel viewer that’s also used for Instant Preview of search results so you can quickly skim full-page previews before diving in. It’s all pretty nifty — maybe the team that built this can go help out the iOS Gmail app team next.
