Although Google Offers was announced alongside Google Wallet at a mobile-focused event back in May, the service hasn’t actually be on mobile until now — the Offers Android app was just released in the US. The app notifies you of deals in your area as you wander the streets hunting for value, and you can make purchases and redeem offers right from your phone. It’s an interesting idea, but we’ll see Google can actually make a go of it — Facebook just shut down its similar Deals initiative after a lukewarm response, and Groupon itself faces growing uncertainty. Anyone trying this one out?
