Some doubts were raised recently when it emerged that the agreement providing Google search to Firefox users was set to run out without renewal, but we suppose it was just a case of negotiations stretching out to the final few hours. 84 percent of Mozilla’s total revenue, as detailed in its most recent financial statement, comes from its search deal with Google, so it’s very easy to see why the company would’ve worked hard to try and get the best deal for itself. We suppose the only team not feeling good about this news will be over at Microsoft, whose Bing “decision engine” stood to benefit most from a fallout between Google and Mozilla.
