The space shuttle Atlantis was commissioned by NASA in 1979, and delivered in 1985. Over the course of its life, it flew 33 space missions, including its last, in July of 2011. This mission marked the end of NASA’s 30 year long space shuttle program, and the Atlantis is now being prepared for old age as a permanent display at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. However, if you can’t get there in person, there are a ton of amazing photos online right now that you can check out, such as the one above.
