Canadian customers itching to get your hands on a Galaxy Nexus, get yourselves to Toronto on Wednesday. Bell and Virgin Mobile are both releasing the Android 4.0 handset on December 7th, a day earlier than the device’s official release date — the phone will be for sale for $159.95 (with a three-year contract) at the carriers’ Yonge and Dundas locations in Toronto, or at Best Buy in the same area. In addition, you’ll be able to get half-price accessories for the new phone. It’s only a 24-hour head start, but that’s a whole day you can spend showing off Ice Cream Sandwich, and one more day you can make your American friends jealous while we wait for Verizon to release the Galaxy Nexus in the US. Potential American importers: the phone does support GSM and HSPA+ 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100 bands, but our own tests with the phone on AT&T have provided mixed-to-inconclusive results, so make the road trip at your own risk.
