Is your Verizon LTE device not providing the landline-pacing broadband speeds you’d expect? That could be because the carrier’s 4G network is experiencing a nationwide outage at the moment. Verizon confirms that there’s an issue with the service, and says engineers are working on it as we speak, but says the problems are limited to the LTE network — calls, texts and 3G should be just fine for the time being. For our part, we actually weren’t able to get 3G on our Novatel 4510L MiFi or Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 LTE either, until just a few minutes ago, although they’re both working on 3G right now. We can confirm that devices in both California and New York aren’t pulling down a 4G signal right now. Our Verizon 3G devices, on the other hand, haven’t seen an issue at all. Read Verizon’s full statement on the matter below:

Verizon Wireless engineers have been working to resolve an issue with 4GLTE service that is affecting some customers’ 4G devices. 3G data and voice devices are unaffected. All customers’ voice calls and text messages continue to go through. In the past 24 hours, some 4GLTE customers have reported their devices are operating on 3G data service where they would normally get 4G. Some have reported no issues, others that data access is either intermittent or unavailable. We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.Update: We are seeing LTE speeds in San Jose as of 5:43 PT.
