Razer’s been working on a high-end gaming laptop for almost a year now, but it sounds like the company’s finally ready to pull the cover off the Razer Blade. Formally announced in late August, Kotaku has learned this high-spec laptop should be available for pre-order in the next few days, with units arriving in consumers’ hands just in time for Christmas. Razer’s keeping the price firm at $2,799.99, but the specs have been bumped slightly with a 256GB SSD instead of the original 320GB hard drive; Razer says it was able to negotiate improved component pricing to make the switch. Everything else remains the same, with a 17-inch, 1920 x 1080 display plus a secondary multitouch display that can either be used as a trackpad or as a gaming shortcut display, a 2.8GHz core i7 processor, and an Nvidia GeForce GT 555M graphics card with 2GB of memory. We’ll keep our eyes peeled for the pre-order, but it looks like the recent alleged theft of two Razer Blade prototypes hasn’t slowed down the launch.
