LG has today announced the A530, a 15.6-inch laptop with a fetish for all things 3D. The display, capable of Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, features LG’s Film Patterned Retarder (FPR) tech -- touted by the company as being “flicker-free” -- and is accompanied by a pair of the requisite 3D glasses. A pair of webcams in the bezel above the screen allows you to record your own three-dimensional narratives as well. All that said, we’ve got the sneaking suspicion the A530 might be best loved for what’s under its brushed aluminum hood: maximum specs include a Core i7 CPU from Intel, a GeForce GT 555M graphics processor from NVIDIA, and up to 750GB of hard disk storage augmented with a built-in solid state drive. USB 3.0 connectivity, a fingerprint reader, and a Blu-ray drive round out the well-stuffed stat sheet. Europe, the Middle East, and Africa should see the A530 released by the end of August, with other territories to follow soon thereafter.
