J.D. Power’s latest study reveals that Verizon Wireless has the highest network quality across most of the US — 43 states, to be exact. The rating comes from polling participants on ten problem areas ranging from dropped calls and audio issues to web errors and slow downloads. Verizon reigns supreme for the fourteenth year in the Northeast, followed by Sprint and T-Mobile who were tied for second place, with AT&T trailing behind. The same goes for the West, Southeast, Southwest, and Mid-Atlantic regions of the US where the other big three carriers lag far behind. Despite Verizon’s dominance, U.S. Cellular retains its stronghold on the North Central region for the twelfth year in a row.

In addition to validating what most of us have suspected forever, the report also confirms that we spend less time talking on the phone (450 minutes per month on average, down 77 since 2009), and that customers are sending more texts (around 39 in a two day period). David Small, Verizon’s Vice President and CTO remarks that the company seeks “to provide a consistently superior and outstanding wireless experience and are committed to enhancing and maintaining our network.” AT&T, unsurprisingly, had no comment on the report.
