Skype has long had a variety of third-party programs that integrate with Mac and Windows clients, but today the company is rebranding what it used to call “extras” as apps with a new app directory page. Why the change? We assume a lot of it has to do with getting on the “app” bandwagon, however, a Skype representative told us that the goal is to create a bigger developer community and increase exposure for the variety of add-ons, which range from call recording to screen sharing programs. The new app store is up and running now at the source link.
