The ASUS Eee Pad Slider was originally announced alongside the Transformer TF101 way back at CES in January, but since then had been beset by delays. No more, as it's quietly become available for $479 for the 16GB model and $579 for the 32GB model. Both versions will get you an Android 3.1 Honeycomb tablet with an NVDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, a 10.1-inch WXGA screen, 5-megapixel rear camera, 1.2-megapixel front camera, a battery meant to last up to 8 hours, and of course a full physical QWERTY keyboard that slides out from underneath the tablet. ASUS is also pre-installing Polaris Office 3.0 for productivity and offering a free year of unlimited web storage on its custom service.

Newegg and Amazon Canada are shipping now, while Amazon in the US is lists at least one vendor that’s also shipping now. We were pleasantly surprised with the EEE Pad Transformer in our review, hopefully the Eee Pad slider can live up to its cousin.
