If not, we're right there with you — nonetheless, that appears to be the target market for Pentax's Optio VS20. Learning when to tastefully use portrait orientation is one of the first lessons of Photo 101, so we hope that the people who end up buying this camera will use it with the appropriate level of responsibility. Otherwise, it looks to be a perfectly competent little compact, with an attractive monochromatic case housing a 20x zoom lens (28-560mm equivalent), sensor-shift image stabilization, and a 3-inch LCD with anti-glare coating. It's out in the US and Japan next month for $249.95 and 26,800 yen (about $345) respectively — just don't get too second-trigger-happy.
