Velocity Micro started out as an enthusiast PC builder, but the company’s branched out in recent years with tablets and peripherals — for CES it will be showing off two new Cruz tablets with upgraded specs running Android 4.0, a refreshed version of its Mac Pro competitor, the ProMagix HD6000, a new handheld projector, and a new all-in-one optical drive / hard drive / card reader.

The new 7” Cruz tablet T507 is billed as a budget tablet, making it a successor to the T408 (which received a big price cut back in October) — it’s got a Cortex A8 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, discrete ARM graphics, 512MB RAM, 8GB internal storage, a front-facing camera, and best of all, will be running Android 4.0. The T507’s larger sibling, the T510, is most just larger in size: it’s got the same CPU and GPU, a front-facing camera, Android 4.0, and HDMI out.
Velocity Micro’s also introducing the VMUltra Drive, an all-in-one external DVD R / RW optical drive, 500GB hard drive, and SD card reader with three USB 2.0 ports. Next up is its new Shine projector, a fairly standard looking pocket projector weighing in at 9 ounces. Finally, the company says it will be refreshing its ProMagix HD6000 Xeon workstation, a Mac Pro competitor, with an Intel Xeon hexa core processor, 32GB DDR3 RAM, Nvidia Quadro 4000 graphics, a 120GB SSD, and an additional 1TB of storage.
