If you follow New York City’s Mayor Michael Bloomberg, you may already know that he’s recently announced his intention to take a coding class in 2012. Like many, Bloomberg will learn to code online using Codecademy’s courses during the company’s self-proclaimed “coding year.” More than 180,000 people have already signed up, including NYC’s mayor. Codecademy offers several courses in JavaScript and, before starting its Code Year promotion for 2012, boasted over 200,000 users.
