The Nexus 4, LG’s well-rumored first participation in Google’s Nexus program, has unwittingly been revealed by UK phone retailer Carphone Warehouse. An entirely official-looking pre-order page has been put up for the handset, whose display is said to measure 4.7 inches diagonally with a 1280 x 768 resolution. Other salient features include Android 4.2, still called Jelly Bean, a quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor, NFC, and an 8-megapixel camera. Looking into the more detailed spec sheet, the Nexus 4 is listed as being 9.1mm thick and is offered with 8GB of onboard storage.

One potential new feature to this version 4.2 of Android is something called Gesture Typing. The retailer listing describes it as a Swype-like form of text input that allows you to type by “dragging your finger across the screen from letter to letter.”
The Carphone Warehouse is offering a choice of monthly contracts in the UK, with either Vodafone or O2, with the new Nexus costing nothing at all on deals of £31 per month and above. Should you be successful in getting a pre-order in today, the promised delivery date is October 30th, just a day after Google’s big Android event on the 29th.
Update: We’ve received the image below, ostensibly of the Carphone Warehouse inventory systems, showing a price of £389.95 for the SIM-free version of the Nexus 4, which should be available in both black and white colors.

Update 2: Predictably enough, the Carphone Warehouse has now taken the premature pre-order page offline.
