Amazon has just announced its new Cloud Drive Photos app for Android smartphones and tablets. Joining the existing Amazon MP3 app, the new Cloud Drive Photos app lets users access images stored in their Amazon Cloud accounts on their mobile devices no matter where they are. It also lets them upload photos from their devices to their Amazon storage and share photos directly from their Cloud accounts to other apps, such as Facebook, Twitter, or email. The app doesn’t have an automatic upload feature however, such as that offered by Google+ and Dropbox.

Amazon says that this service is already integrated into the Kindle Fire HD tablet, but now users with other Android devices are able to take advantage of it. The Cloud Drive service provides 5GB of storage for photos, documents, music, or other files for free, and users can purchase more storage starting at $10 per year for 20GB if they need it. The Cloud Drive Photos app is available for free in the Google Play Store and Amazon Appstore for Android now.
