Google’s new Nexus 4 phones were expected to ship today, but some people are being informed that they won’t be arriving for quite some time. We’ve received emails informing users that “due to overwhelming demand,” their Nexus 4 is on backorder and is expected to ship within three weeks. It’s possible to cancel the order, but since the Nexus 4 is currently sold out on Google Play with no clear indication on when it’ll be coming back, you’ll want to either start looking for a T-Mobile store or resign yourself to waiting. To make up for the inconvenience, Google says it will waive shipping charges on the phone when it’s finally sent out. The Nexus 7, released earlier this year, also sold out quickly, but so far the Nexus 4 has been particularly difficult to buy. That could be because of demand, or just because Google didn’t produce a particularly big first run of its new flagship device.
