Twitter’s been working on a number of feature enhancements to its service this past year, and now the company is hoping to expand its reach by letting users share tweets via email directly from its website. In a blog post, Twitter describes that users will soon see a new “more” option next to individual tweets that will allow them to email the 140-character missives to people that aren’t on the service itself. The shared tweet will be emailed out directly from Twitter itself rather than use the email client on a user’s computer. While a similar feature is already available on the company’s mobile apps, there’s no doubt Twitter wants to leverage those who prefer its website to spread the word to friends and family that haven’t signed up just yet. The new email sharing feature will be rolling out to all users “over the coming weeks.”
