According to a report from GigaOm, Deutsche Telekom CEO René Obermann is planning to step down from his position next year. His successor will be the company's current CFO, Timotheus Höttges. Deutsche Telekom is a massive telecommunications company based out of Germany and is the parent company of T-Mobile USA. DT was behind T-Mobile's recent acquisition of MetroPCS, following last year's failed merger with AT&T. Obermann was with the company for 16 years, but it's not exactly clear where he will be headed next. “I want to go back to having more time for customers, for product development and for technology," said the CEO in a prepared statement. His contract is expected to formally end on December 31st, 2013.
