Samsung has announced the Galaxy Tab 2, a 7-inch tablet running a TouchWiz-skinned Android 4.0. It has a pretty tame spec sheet and looks to be a direct replacement for the original Galaxy Tab, an 18-month old slate that Samsung has admitted it won’t be upgrading to ICS. The new tablet is based on a 1GHz dual-core processor, with 1GB of RAM, and either 8GB, 16GB, or 32GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD. It has a 7-inch 1024 x 600 (WSVGA) PLS LCD display, and a 3-megapixel camera on the rear combined with a VGA webcam up front. In terms of connectivity, the Galaxy Tab 2 offers up optional quad-band HSPA+ for data on the move, along with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0. A-GPS is also included, with a 4000mAh battery powering the device. It’s set to launch worldwide, with the UK receiving the tablet in March.
