Following in the footsteps of Louis C.K., stand-up comedian Jim Gaffigan has announced that he will be selling his next one-hour comedy special directly to consumers. Jim Gaffigan: Mr. Universe will cost $5, with $1 from each purchase going towards the Bob Woodruff Foundation, a charity that provides support to veterans and their families. The arrangement is very similar to C.K.‘s special, which also cost $5 and earned more than $1 million in just 12 days. Gaffigan — who in addition to stand-up has made film and TV appearances in everything from The Ellen Show to Flight of the Conchords — will film the special later this month in Washington, D.C., and release it on his website in April.
