While much of the world has moved on to speculating the launch date for Samsung’s Galaxy S III, US Cellular customers will soon get a crack at yet another variant of the venerable Galaxy S II smartphone. This handset appears to be most closely related with the Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch model (pictured above) that launched on Sprint last September, with the same 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 8-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front camera, 4.5-inch screen, and 16GB of internal storage on board. Sadly, it also has the same horribly outdated Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS with TouchWiz, though that shouldn’t be a surprise by now. US Cellular didn’t include a release date for this phone, but you can sign up now to be notified when it becomes available; it’ll set you back $229.99 when it does launch.
