Want a sizable storage bump for your Dropbox account? Then today’s your lucky day, if you’re willing to put in a little work: the company is offering up to 5GB of free space for those who give the 1.3.12 beta version of Dropbox a spin. To reap the new storage, you have to actually upload 500MB of photos and videos at a time, and for each 500MB uploaded, Dropbox will add an additional block of the same amount to your account. If you don’t feel like uploading that much stuff, you’ll still get something out of it, as Dropbox will give you 500MB of free space upon the first photo import. The post lists a number of known issues with the build, but that’s to be expected with beta software. Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux users can all participate, so head on over to Dropbox’s site to get started.
