If being able to stream episodes of Jersey Shore is what it takes to get customers to pay for Prime, Amazon is willing to go the distance. The company has just signed an agreement with Viacom that will add content from nine channels, including MTV and Comedy Central, to its Prime Instant Video library. Over the next several months, users will get access to shows like The Hills and The Sarah Silverman Program, along with children's programming from Nickelodeon, including Dora the Explorer and SpongeBob SquarePants. The company says this brings the total number of videos in Prime Instant Video up to 15,000. Amazon's still not expected to turn a high profit this quarter, but it looks like it's putting things in place to attract people to Prime and the Kindle Fire, both of which serve as big draws for customers to spend more money through the company.

Here are the channels you'll be getting from the deal:

  • MTV
  • Comedy Central
  • Nickelodeon
  • TV Land
  • Spike
  • VH1
  • BET
  • CMT
