As part of Sprint’s move towards 4G LTE and away from WiMAX the company has added two new cities to its mid-2012 LTE launch: Baltimore and Kansas City will be joining Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio, which were announced earlier this year. No official date has been set for when the service will roll out, aside from a vague middle of 2012 window, and in addition to the 4G service, the six cities will also receive “enhanced” 3G service. Sprint’s LTE network is expected to support more than 15 devices in 2012, including the Galaxy Nexus and LG Viper. The full rollout of the network is due in 2013, when Sprint plans to cover 250 million Americans with the LTE service, more than double the 120 million currently covered by WiMAX.
