DirecTV subscribers with an HD DVR can now stream Pandora internet radio directly from the set-top box, bringing added functionality to what is already among the slickest-looking TV programming guides around. So long as the aforementioned DVR is connected to their home network, Pandora users can login by hitting the menu button on their remote and visiting the "extras" section, after which they'll have access to any and all of their personalized stations — up to 100 in total. Just don't expect the ability to sign up for the service from your living room sofa; Pandora still requires the use of a computer when it comes to creating a new account. As per usual when it comes to the internet streaming service, your listening experience will be interrupted by ads unless you're willing to shell out the yearly $36 charge for a Pandora One account.
