The Android version of Google Earth has been updated to version 6.2, which includes support for custom maps. Now when you’re browsing the web and you stumble across a KML file — the format used to display maps and overlays in Earth — you can open it up and view it inside the mobile app. You can also now browse through the Google Earth Gallery, which lets you scroll through the newest and most popular maps that have been added, as well as search for more specific ones. And just like in the recent 6.2 update for the desktop client, there are new social tools so that you can share screenshots through Google+ or Gmail. New zoom and pinch gestures have been added to the Android version as well, while Google says that the same update will hit the iOS app “soon.”
