Adium 1.5 update adds built-in notifications, new icons, and a better transcript viewer

Mac chat client standby Adium today got its first major update in a year and a half with the release of version 1.5. The update adds support for Growl 1.3, but also builds in its own “Mist” notification system for chat updates in case you’re not a Growl user. It’s the first Adium release to get 64-bit support, and the chat Transcript Viewer has gotten some much-needed speed updates and “polish” to bring it up-to-date with Lion’s stylings.
