Berlin-based designer Axel Pfaender’s latest project is an iPhone-compatible stereo boombox that’s made of screen-printed cardboard. The Berlin Boombox is fully recyclable, features a striking black and white design, and comes in a flat-pack assembly kit. There’s a stereo amplifier on board, and it’ll connect to to any device with a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. Pfaender says he created the boombox after deciding that there weren’t any attractive and affordable iPhone speakers on the market, and we’d certainly agree that he’s succeeded in breaking through there — the Berlin Boombox looks great, and you can order one with a Kickstarter pledge of just $50 (the price will be $59 at retail if the project is successfully funded). We’ll have to hear it for ourselves before commenting on the sound quality, but we’re already impressed with the design.
