Google Chrome was the first browser to fall at this year’s Pwn2Own hacking competition, but Google hasn’t wasted time in obliterating the security risk. In a blog post detailing “security fixes and rewards,” Google congratulates Sergey Glazunov for his attack on a default version of Chrome as part of the Google-sponsored “Pwnium” contest, and says that it has eliminated the “USXX and bad history navigation” issue that Glazunov uncovered. Since Google only hands out information on Chrome threats on a “need to know basis,” specific details about the attack will be kept private until a majority of Chrome users have received the security fix.
