Annotating PDFs on a tablet is a widely-held dream in the suit community, and now Adobe’s making it a little easier — the free Adobe reader app for iOS and Android is being updated to support electronic signatures and basic annotations. The electronic signatures are powered by Adobe’s EchoSign service that tracks documents and signatures for you, while the annotation tools are pretty much what you’d expect: you can highlight, underline, and strikethrough text, leave comments, and fill out forms.

It’s not all mobile updates, though: the desktop Reader app is also getting in on the EchoSign fun, with support for dragged-in signature images and signatures drawn on a touchscreen. Not bad if you don’t mind the heft of Reader. All of these updates are free and should be rolling out now, we’re told.
