Perhaps you’ve heard that Apple CEO Tim Cook was spotted at Valve Corporation last Friday, and joined your fellow man in speculating about the amazing products an Apple-Valve partnership could produce. There’s one tiny problem: according to Valve head honcho Gabe Newell, the rumor reported by Apple Insider isn’t remotely true. “No one here was meeting with Tim Cook or with anybody at Apple that day. I wish we were,” he told the Seven Day Cooldown podcast. He added that he’d never met Tim Cook at all, inside or outside Valve’s Bellevue, Washington headquarters. Seven Day Cooldown shared an excerpt from the transcript with Kotaku this afternoon, and manager Jack Inacker was kind enough to send us audio proof too: you can hear a preview clip from the interview right here, and the full hour-long piece should be available on 7DCD’s site soon.

In case you’re wondering, Valve is indeed working on wearable computing, though the company’s calling that an R&D project for the time being.
Thanks, thesuff!
