Arcade machines are awesome, but they’re also expensive and take up a whole lot of space — so someone decided to build one that’s only 12 inches tall. Arcade Controls forumgoer Le Chuck has built a 1:6 scale replica of Atari’s 1983 Star Wars arcade game, that comes complete with a custom-built yoke for steering, a door for inserting coins, and a series of blinking lights. What’s more impressive, though, is that it actually works, thanks to a modified GP2X Caanoo handheld running a MAME emulator. The tiny screen may not be the ideal way to experience the game, but the custom cabinet is definitely easier to keep around the house than its full-sized counterpart.
