Adobe’s Photoshop Lightroom 4, first released in early March, has made its way to the Mac App Store. Priced at $149.99, the photography app marks the first professional-caliber product Adobe is offering via Apple’s digital storefront. Previous releases have included simpler, consumer-friendly editing tools like Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements alongside the company’s Revel cloud-based photo library software. It’s also worth pointing out that assuming the standard developer agreement is in play here, Apple will be collecting $45 with each and every download: judging by the app’s popularity among photography pros and hobbyists alike, that’s sure to add up to a healthy sum before long.

The 388MB download requires a Mac carrying a 64-bit processor and running OS X 10.6.8 or later. With Adobe now offering one of its top-tier products on the platform, suddenly the idea of Creative Suite one day being sold in the Mac App Store doesn’t seem so far fetched.
