When Turntable.fm’s Seth Goldstein said an Android app was coming “pretty soon,” he wasn’t kidding. The app is now out on the Google Play Store, where it’s compatible with everything running 2.2 or higher. So far, there seem to be a few glitches involving the chat function, which either formats incorrectly or crashes the app under high traffic, but we’re honestly thrilled to see one of our favorite music apps expand from web and iOS.

Turntable.fm has previously dropped some hints about new features, but now that an Android app is out, the biggest thing on fans’ wishlists is probably expansion outside the US, which has been stymied by licensing and copyright difficulties despite several major record deals. That’s probably going to take a couple of years at least, so for now we’ll just focus on enjoying our new toy.
