A Verizon handset known only as the SCH-i535 has appeared on benchmarking app NenaMark’s leaderboards. The listing is very thin on information, but SCH-i535 is undoubtably a Samsung handset — the Verizon Galaxy Nexus has the model number SCH-i515. NenaMark lists the new device’s screen resolution at 1280 x 720 and the GPU as an Adreno 225, which is currently only available as part of the Snapdragon S4 SoC.

We first caught wind of the SCH-i535 when it received Wi-Fi certification back in February, and at the time it looked as though it might be a Galaxy Nexus variant. The problem with that assumption is the newly-revealed screen resolution; because of the Galaxy Nexus’ on-screen buttons, NenaMark lists its display as 1196 x 720 pixels, leading us to now believe this new Samsung handset may be part of the upcoming GS III family. We’ll find out for sure soon enough — the Galaxy S III is set to launch with LTE in North America this June.
