HTC has issued an update on its investor relations site, claiming that “some of our products have passed review and have been delivered to our telecoms operators’ clients in the US.” HTC also says that “we don’t have the status of each specific device model at this time, but are working closely with customs,” and the company says it’s “confident that this issue will be resolved soon.” Back on May 15th, the HTC One X and Evo 4G LTE earned the unfortunate distinction of being the first smartphones to face an import delay by US customs over patent-infringement concerns. It’s possible that customs found the handset manufacturer’s workarounds to Apple’s patents satisfactory, but it’s not yet clear which devices have been released or why. At any rate, the news must be hopeful for those patiently waiting for an upgrade.
