According to Japanese daily Nikkei, as reported by Reuters, Sharp will be supplying technology to Taiwan’s Hon Hai Group for a Chinese manufacturing plant that will be building panels for the iPhone and other devices. Hon Hai — which owns Foxconn — entered into a manufacturing agreement with Sharp in March, which saw the company acquire a ten percent stake in the Japanese firm. That news was followed by reports that the two would be working together to create panels for Apple’s oft-rumored television. Sharp entered into the partnership after being hit hard by the stagnation of the television market, which has seen the company slash production at its Osaka-based LCD plant and post record losses.
