It’s been a few months since the jailbreaking tool Absinthe was released for the iPhone 4S and iPad 2, and today version 2.0 is available. The new, untethered Absinthe works with version 5.1.1 of the iOS firmware (and that version only), which means that you can use it to jailbreak your new third-generation iPad. In fact, virtually all iOS devices running the latest firmware are supported, with the exception of the most recent version of the iPad 2 that utilizes a 32nm A5 processor — though the team says that support “will be added at a later date.” The tool is available as a download for Mac, Windows, and Linux, and you can head on over to the source link below for instructions on how to install it. But, as always, only go ahead with the installation if you’re aware of the risks involved in jailbreaking your device.
